About the producer

Louis Roederer is one of Champagne's oldest houses, founded in 1776 and still family-owned. Cristal is their prestige cuvée, created in the 19th century for the Russian Imperial court.

About the year

The 2013 vintage in Champagne was challenging, with a cool growing season that produced wines of high acidity and freshness. These wines age beautifully and are drinking well now, with the acidity still bright and the flavours becoming more complex.

Grape characteristics

Chardonnay brings elegance and citrus notes, while Pinot Noir adds depth and structure. The blend creates a wine that is both refined and powerful.

About the region

Champagne's cool climate and chalky soil produce sparkling wines of exceptional finesse. The region's traditional methods and strict regulations ensure consistency and quality across generations.

Tasting profile

Expect aromas of lemon, green apple and toasted bread, with flavours of citrus, white flowers and a hint of almond. The wine is dry and complex, with a long, mineral finish.
