About the producer

Tenuta Sant'Antonio is a family estate in the heart of Valpolicella with a reputation for traditional Amarone made from carefully dried grapes.

About the year

The 2016 vintage produced ripe, concentrated wines across Veneto. Amarone from this year shows the balance between power and elegance that comes from a warm growing season.

Grape characteristics

Corvina is the backbone of Amarone, bringing bright cherry notes and structure. The grapes are dried for months after harvest, which concentrates their sugars and flavours into a wine that is rich, dry and warming.

About the region

Valpolicella sits north of Verona in the foothills of the Alps. The cool nights and warm days create ideal conditions for growing grapes that will be dried to make Amarone, one of Italy's most prestigious red wines.

Tasting profile

Expect a full-bodied wine with flavours of dried fruit, chocolate and spice. The warmth and richness come from the dried-grape process, which gives Amarone its distinctive character: powerful yet refined.

Serving suggestions

Serve at 65 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Decant for thirty minutes to an hour before drinking to open up the aromas. Use a large red wine glass to let the wine breathe.
